Special USC Alumni Tribute to President and Mrs. Sample
Posted by: | CommentsWe are pleased to share with you a special alumni tribute to retiring USC President Steven B. Sample and First Lady Kathryn Sample, commemorating their 19 years of remarkable service to the university. This four-minute tribute premiered at the 77th Annual USC Alumni Awards and was warmly received by more than 500 alumni and friends in attendance.
One of Dr. Sample’s greatest passions was the USC Renaissance Scholars Program, which he launched in 2000. This incredible program encourages students to become “broad and versatile thinkers” by working “deeply and productively” in widely disparate disciplines. Members of the Trojan Family now have an opportunity to ensure that the Samples’ extraordinary legacy lives on at USC by supporting the Steven and Kathryn Sample Renaissance Scholars Endowment. Thank you and Fight On!

Special Thanks and OC Performance by Thornton School of Music Student
Posted by: | CommentsMessage: An invitation to members of South Orange County Alumni, whose scholarship support has been invaluable to me.
Please come see what your support has nurtured at a May 14 performance at 8 p.m. in Laguna Beach’s Neighborhood Congregational Church, 285 St. Ann’s Drive. I’ll be performing with 10 other Thornton School of Music musicians, playing original compositions and arrangements. I’ve entitled the concert Green Blues: A Night of Modern Jazz, but it could also be called Tunes for Tuition, too. It’s a benefit to help me defray tuition costs for my final semester, studying music in Brazil.
I hope to see some of the Trojan family in the audience.

Newport Regatta Special Invitation to Young USC Alumni & Friends
Posted by: | CommentsTrojans,
Spring is upon us and with that comes the annual Newport Regatta in beautiful Newport Beach on Sunday, April 11!
This is our premier Orange County rowing event for the Spring which will pit USC versus our local rivals — UCLA, UCSD, USD, UCI and Orange Coast College.
We would like to make a special invitation to all Young Alums from the 90’s and 2000’s to come out and support the Crew in what will be some of our most competitive racing of the year! This is the 10th Anniversary of the re-founding of the USC Men’s Crew program after our hiatus in the 90’s. Since then, hundreds of Trojans have matriculated through the Crew, representing a new era in our long history at USC and we would love to see you all.

Troy Camp, the official philanthropy of the University of Southern California, is a student run mentorship program that connects undergraduate students from USC with low-income children from the local community by way of a weeklong summer camp and a year-long tutoring program.
Recently, we have been reaching out to organizations with similar service-minded values to get the word out about USC Troy Camp. Our goal is to build relationships with organizations such as the South Orange County Alumni Club to jointly help children in the LA area.
