North Beach in San Clemente
Join fellow South Orange County Trojans and friends for our Summer Sunset Beach Party! Wear USC clothing and get a free hot dog and lemonade. Please consider bringing an appetizer or dessert item to share with others. You may also want to bring a jacket and a beach chair.
Come to the FREE event and meet other local alumni and friends of USC on July 23rd at 6:00 PM. No cost for parking after 6 PM. At sunset (about 8:00 PM) we will have the fixin’s for S’Mores at the fire pit. You may want to bring a jacket and beach chair.

USC President-elect Nikias names Pat Haden Athletic Director

In a letter to the members of the USC Trojan Family, USC President-elect Max Nikias announced that Pat Haden has accepted his offer to become USC’s Athletic Director as of August 3, 2010. Pat will take over for Mike Garrett who is stepping down after 17 years as Director of Athletics for USC.

The USC Alumni Club of South Orange County is hosting our annual summer SCend Off to welcome our newest members to the Trojan family. Come meet our local alumni, ask all your questions and meet your fellow classmates before heading off to Los Angeles!
The SCend off will be at the home of Steve and Linda Ball on July 25th Sunday from 3 to 5 PM at 25382 Spotted Pony Lane, Laguna Hills CA 92653.

Special USC Alumni Tribute to President and Mrs. Sample

Dear Fellow Trojan,
We are pleased to share with you a special alumni tribute to retiring USC President Steven B. Sample and First Lady Kathryn Sample, commemorating their 19 years of remarkable service to the university. This four-minute tribute premiered at the 77th Annual USC Alumni Awards and was warmly received by more than 500 alumni and friends in attendance.
One of Dr. Sample’s greatest passions was the USC Renaissance Scholars Program, which he launched in 2000. This incredible program encourages students to become “broad and versatile thinkers” by working “deeply and productively” in widely disparate disciplines. Members of the Trojan Family now have an opportunity to ensure that the Samples’ extraordinary legacy lives on at USC by supporting the Steven and Kathryn Sample Renaissance Scholars Endowment.
